In response to national Green Legacy Initiative, Oromia International Bank S.C Board of Directors, Management and staff planted thousands of trees in Gelan town at the Bank’s acquired land for Centre of Excellence.
OIB also dedicated a memorial park for the Late Artist Hachalu Hundessa.
During the occasion, President of the Bank ObboTeferi Mekonnen said that planting trees is beyond preservation and conservation of natural beauty. It is about creating a suitable environment for the next generation.
ObboTeferi also announced the dedication of a memorial park to the Late Artist Hachalu Hundessa though not matches the immense social, political and cultural contribution he rendered to his people. He also called all OIB staff and other volunteers to contribute for the wellbeing of his family through the account opened at Oromia International Bank and other banks for this purpose.
Gelan town Deputy Mayor Adde Woynishet thanked the Bank and for choosing Gelan town for this holistic deed and vowed to closely work with OIB in many areas. She also advised the Bank to begin construction in the lessened period.
OIB has acquired 20 hectare of land from Gelan Municipality to build a modern Centre of Excellence.
